My name is Lila. I am a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) specializing in pediatrics. I provide individual and group occupational therapy (OT) for children ages 0-21 in homes and at schools.
It is my goal to help bridge the gap between what your child needs to do and what they’re able to do, in a way that is fun, meaningful, and engaging.
“Occupations” are meaningful day-to-day activities we want, need to, and are expected to engage in.
"Occupational performance issues" occur when a person can not engage in their meaningful occupations to the level of performance or participation they would like.
Occupational Therapy (OT) is the professional practice that supports people in increasing their performance and participation in occupations.
A few examples of child occupations include:
dressing, eating, bathing (hygiene), playing, engagement with others, sleeping and academics (writing, typing, etc.)
Occupational therapy is most effective when provided in the client's natural environment, where their occupations are most impacted.
Occupational Therapists are healthcare professional who help people improve their ability to perform daily activities, also known as "occupations." I use skilled observation, assessments, and clinical reasoning to identify your child’s challenges. This helps us create goals so they can participate in those activities with more confidence, joy and independence.
OT can help with improving fine and gross motor skills, visual skills and coordination, sensory processing, sequencing tasks, emotional regulation, play, attention, social skills training, job coaching, home modifications, mentoring through transitions, corporate health training, and more.
Play is a child’s most important occupation, where most learning occurs. OT is meant to be enjoyable!
